Internship
Student Internship at ISB
Every semester ISB welcomes a large number of interns from all over Europe. ISB has a partnership with the EU education programme Erasmus, which allow university students to go abroad to gain international experiences related to their studies.
The interns at ISB are all in the journey of becoming a teacher and they provide a valuable service to the school. While gaining experience from an international education system they are expected to fully integrate to the teaching activities in the class they are assigned. An Erasmus internship at ISB usually lasts from three to six months.
If you wish to apply for an internship in Lower School, please contact Lower School Principal, Ms Leanne Hagen by email.
If you wish to apply for an internship at our Early Childhood Centre, please contact ECC Principal, Ms Alyssa Dyrdal by email.
You may apply for an internship in the Early Childhood Centre (Preschool 1 - Kindergarten) for the school year 2024-2025 or 2025-2026.

Nationality: German Internship, Spring 2022 - Lower School (Grade 5) At ISB, the students are seen as individuals. The focus is obviously to provide excellent academic results, but also facilitate personal connections and growth. I believe this could prepare the students for their future career, even at an early age. I follow the same grade throughout my internship. This makes me feel more connected to the students - both as a group and as individuals. Overall, having an internship at ISB has given me useful first-hand experience in actual teaching, and introduced me to new methods of learning.Iman
Nationality: Spanish Internship, Spring 2022 - Early Childhood Centre I specialise in English language at my home university in Spain and having an internship at ISB has really been beneficial regarding my future career goal to become an English teacher. One major trait of ISB is the large cultural mix, both of students and staff. We all come from different cultures and backgrounds and learn from each other. Together we are united by our differences. I could definitely see myself work in an international environment like ISB in the future.Lisa
Nationality: German Internship, Spring 2022 - Early Childhood CentreHaving an internship at ISB has given me experience with planning and managing various types of kindergarten sessions and activities. Being an intern at ISB has given me the opportunity to be part of a larger professional community of both teachers and fellow interns. The connections I have built with my fellow interns is priceless and has become important for me, both on a personal and professional level.

Nationality: Spanish/German Internship, Spring 2022 - Lower School (Grade 3)Majoring in both English Language and Physical Education at my home university, ISB has allowed me to combine my two fields of interest. I have gained first-hand experience in using the English language on a daily basis. As a soon-to-be a P.E. teacher, the possibility to plan and hold my own P.E. classes here at ISB has given me the right tools I need to feel confident in the role as a teacher and benefit me in terms of my own career goals.
